The first film based on true events that occurred during World War I. An Austro-Hungarian expedition gathers information and sets up an archaeological site in the ancient city of Apollonia. The expedition's experts, such as archaeologist Schniker, want to loot ancient monuments, but the villagers of the area, led by a teacher, fight to protect them. The Austro-Hungarians execute the teacher.
