A merchant ship sets sail for a foreign service but is caught in a storm at sea. The ship anchors in a foreign port. Authorities order the ship to leave port in time for the storm. The ship returns home amidst difficulties.

Doctor Artani works in a mountain sawmill. A talented doctor, self-satisfied with his successes, he gradually detaches himself from the life of the people, is seduced by foreign, petty-bourgeois concepts.
